FN 15 ASR NOW AVAILABLE AS PART OF THE UK POLICE PRIMARY CARBINE FRAMEWORK

London, UK

6th January 2026

FN UK has been awarded the Police Primary Carbine System Framework Agreement with the new FN 15 Advanced Semi-Automatic Rifle (ASR).

The fully ambidextrous weapon was developed by FN to meet the needs of Law Enforcement Officers with the programme being accelerated to meet the timelines for the UK Police tender.

The FN 15 ASR is unique in that it is fully symmetrically ambidextrous; it provides true ambidextrous controls without drastically changing the ergonomics desired by professional users. The movements needed to activate the controls are the same for right-handed or left-handed operation.

FN has developed a family of law enforcement products that combine reliable and durable designs, manufactured to the industry’s highest quality standards. Drawing from years of developing products for the military, FN applies that experience into its Law Enforcement products. The FN 15 ASR offers:

Reliability – Design combined with high quality components and testing ensures dependable operation. The barrels used on FN law enforcement semi-auto and select fire carbines are all internally coated with the same hard chrome coating used on our belt fed machineguns.

Durability – The best materials, material processing and coatings are used to provide superior life. Cold Hammer Forged Barrels (CHF) barrels offer the highest level of durability due to the hammer forging process and FN’s proprietary 21CrMoV5-11 steel.

Quality – Every carbine is subject to extensive quality checks, including visual and functional inspections during final assembly.

Michelle Cantoni, CEO of FN UK commented:

“This is a great opportunity for FN to reach into the UK law enforcement market with a newly developed product, tailored to their requirements. As the sole manufacturer in the UK of assault rifles and machine guns we are proud to empower those who serve, defend and protect us with the most dependable security solutions.”

The FN 15 was introduced into the U.S. commercial market in 2014. Over the past 10 years, the product offering has expanded to specific law enforcement configurations as well as select-fire configurations (FN 16). Between 2014 and 2024, over 130,000 units have been produced and shipped to law enforcement agencies, federal agencies and commercial customers.

All UK Police forces are now able to acquire the approved FN 15 ASR weapon as part of the PPCS framework. For further information please contact sales@fnuk.co.uk.
