Instruction and Training models

Safe realistic training

These configurations allow various types of training without the potential risks of using weapons capable of live firing. They also avoid the considerable wear that shortens the life of operational weapons and degrades their reliability.

Practice models are not able to fire any ammunition. They are completely safe, and useful for learning or repetitive practice of handing and stripping. Having the same weight and balance as the service weapon, users can carry them for other training activities to make them more operationally realistic. Red colouring on a major part makes them easily identifiable. These configurations are available for FN SCAR® SC and FN SCAR® L MK2.

Training models can only fire specific marking ammunition for force-on-force training. It is not possible to load standard ammunition. They handle and fire exactly like the service weapon, allowing highly realistic tactical training. Blue colouring on a major part makes them easily identifiable. These configurations are available for FN SCAR® SC and FN SCAR® L MK2.

Cutaway models are not able to fire any ammunition. Openings allow the user to see the position and movements of internal parts and assemblies during the operating cycle. They provide a valuable tool for armourers and other personnel who need detailed knowledge of the functioning of the weapon. Visible openings on most outer surfaces make them easily identifiable. These configurations are available for all FN SCAR® models.
